Natural gas is a natural combustible gas that is produced in the earth’s crust, comes to the surface during mining activities and can be safely used in any installation used as set out in the Natural Gas Supply Act in a manner that is environmentally and technically safe, including natural gas-quality gases from biomass and other non-mining sources.

Natural gas-quality gases from biomass and other non-mining sources are artificially produced gas mixtures that can be injected (transported, distributed, stored) into the cooperating natural gas system under the conditions specified in the legal regulation implementing the provisions of the Natural Gas Supply Act, in a manner that is appropriate from an environmental and technical-safety perspective, can be mixed with natural gas and this mixture, when injected into the natural gas system, meets the quality requirements for natural gas set out in the government decree implementing the provisions of the Natural Gas Supply Act.

Users, system operators, system users and producers.

The natural gas trader carries out the commercial purchase and sale of natural gas for consideration other than for its own use, which is an activity subject to a license under the Natural Gas Supply Act.

The transport system operator, the natural gas storage license holder, and the natural gas distributor.

The natural gas distributor transmits the natural gas to the user through the natural gas distribution pipeline. Natural gas distribution is an activity subject to a license under the Natural Gas Supply Act.

The amount of heat released by the complete combustion of a given quantity (1 m3) of gas in air at constant pressure if the final temperature of the combustion product is equal to the initial temperature and both the initial components and the products of combustion are in gaseous state (MSZ ISO 6976). Calorific value is determined based on the chemical composition of the natural gas and is measured in MJ/m3.
